The concept

Hiking, biking and kayaking excursions to discover some hidden sweet spots of Mauritian nature in an eco-friendly fashion. It’s not about sporting performance but about the joy of open-air activities, the beauty of settings, the discovering of natural spaces and why they should be preserved.

The places

Sea-kayaking:-

Île d’Ambre – north-east coast. Silently glide among mangroves, set foot on the islet for a hike; discover its history and wilderness.

Kayaking courses available on request.

Mountain-biking:-

Bras d’Eau reserve – east coast – a fairly easy one. Ride through exotic woods – now a national park – and along the beautiful coastal road of Roches Noires and Poste Lafayette, after having visited some lava caves. A 3-hour flat and easy ride.

Piton du milieu / Midlands – centre – 18 or 34 Kms; you choose. A mountain and lakeside setting.

Mare-aux-vacoas / Mare Longue / Tamarind falls – centre – 20 or 35 Kms; you choose. A technical trail in a lake setting.

The wild south coast (on request). Ride the cliffs to end at beautiful La Cambuse beach.

Hiking:-

Île d’Ambre – north-east coast. A 3h30min hike for the discovery of this nature reserve and its history.

Le Pouce – Climb that thumb-shaped mountain at the middle of the island and enjoy the view over the green fields and the towns of Mauritius. 3 hours; average difficulty.

Bras d’Eau – Walk through the woods and get a hint of the history of this ancient plantation estate. 3 hours, flat walk.
