We absolutely loved or stay in Villa Grankaz organised by Bookmauritius-villas. You were extremely efficient and very helpful. The overall experience was one of the best ever - but as is often the case with just a few small tweaks it could have been even better. For example:
The house is a bit tired in places i.e the bathrooms and general decoration etc. A refresh would make all the difference. There were lots of light bulbs that didn't work - our sheets didn't fit that well so often by the morning you could be lying on the mattress. other little things like the table cloth was only changed once in the 10 days. It wasn't very hot (27-30) but if it had been the lack of AC might have been an issue. the two units are very old and noisy and do not work well. It would have been good to have the two house maids working; the cleaning was only superficial. It would be great to have a list of meals the girls could prepare - just to give us an idea. the food they made was delicious! It would also be helpful if you could offer to do an initial shop of essentials, the boring stuff that you don’t want to think about on holiday! - washing up liquid, loo roll, dish washer tabs etc etc.
Positives (outweigh the minor things above many times).
The house and the location could not have been more perfect for us it was an absolute dream. Beautiful sea, very safe, beautiful sand and the bottom off the garden. Completely peaceful and virtually deserted perfect beach. The few people there are also very discrete. The Kayaks are great to have too - there were people in the casita in the garden but you still feel private enough. There were plenty of good sun loungers and the table/chairs and umbrellas on the beach were perfect too. It was great we could employ Carine to look after the month old for and hour or two per day. House lovely and airy and had a great beach chic vibe to it - its rustic rather than luxurious.
I am sure this is one of the best locations in Mauritius and we will DEFINITELY come back - we have also recommended it to all of our friends.
All the best and we look forward to coming back!
